Established in 2019 by Jude Olotu in Abuja Nigeria, the Excel Signature Creative Hub seeks to provide a nurturing environment for young people with the flair for the arts and product design, based in Nigeria. Through multi-disciplinary studios, work spaces and galleries located in Abuja, it enables creative practice, experimentation and dialogue among members and authorities of their field. Operating on a membership model, Excel Signature Creative Hub’s annual program of training residencies, in fine arts, digital arts, metal art, wood art, sculpturing, product design, cinematography and production, music, and photography, gives exposure on a national and international scale, to members.
Excel Signature Creative Hub range of initiatives include: Artworld; which takes a selected cohort of emerging Nigerian based promising artist and through a nine-month development program in practice and grooming in all the different styles of painting and fine arts. Design lab which takes a product inspired by the surroundings of Nigeria from concept to completion in wood work and metal work designs; Digital space, which invites visual artists to embark on a one-year development program of digital studio practice in digital art, graphics design, tech and I.T, blockchain technology Mentorship and Training that culminates in a major solo presentation and exhibition; Excel think tank, an online platform connecting creatives and fabricators to enable designers and artists accurate and efficient access to recent global ideas, resources and the hub’s manufacturing lab; Exhibitions and Workshops to challenge artistic practice, enable capacity building and grow audience for the arts in Nigeria; and the heart of Excel signature creative hub, its Membership, a community of creatives with access to facilities and studio spaces to refine their skills, undertake collaborations and pursue professional careers.
Excel signature creative hub became a heaven for the creatives in the deep of covid 19, where they could come in and be trained, improved and mentored, while gaining experience from seasoned professionals in their field.
