Celebrating Six Decades of Artistry
With a career spanning nearly 60 years, Salvatore Caputo is a seasoned artist with a rich history in the national and international art scene.
Beginning in 1964, he has graced both prestigious group exhibitions and solo shows in museums and private galleries.
An architect by training, Caputo transitioned to a full-time painter after graduation, exploring various artistic forms, including graphic art, engravings, serigraphs, lithographs, and medals.
From the 1980s onwards, Caputo delved into art objects, initially inspired by medieval diptychs and triptychs, later embracing the concept of memory, tradition, and place with art objects made from reclaimed materials.
In his most recent works, Caputo embarks on a journey towards the western part of Sicily, finding inspiration in the visual spaces of the Saline (saltworks).
